Fall Mimosa: Setting the mood with Apple Cider

From Episode 3 of Cafecito Conversations: The Art of the Autumn Kitchen.

This is the fall mimosa from the episode: apple cider, champagne, and a cinnamon-sugar rim, finished with an apple slice and a sprig of rosemary. It looks like a celebration and it takes about five minutes — my kind of cocktail.

Dunk the apple slice in lime juice first so it stays pretty instead of going brown in the glass.

Cider Mimosa

Prep time: 5 minutes · Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sugar mixed with ½ tsp cinnamon, for the rim

  • 1 lime wedge

  • 2 oz apple cider

  • 4 oz champagne

  • 1 apple slice, dunked in lime juice so it doesn't brown, and/or a rosemary sprig

Instructions

  1. Rim the glass. Run the lime wedge around the rim of a champagne glass and dip it in the cinnamon sugar.

  2. Pour. Pour in the apple cider, then top with the champagne.

  3. Garnish. Finish with the apple slice and/or a rosemary sprig.
